Pt 1 of 2 Pt 2 is on Dr. Khan @ osf Rt. 91. Most of the nurses are great at this location (that is what earned the two stars). However, (the exception) I was asked a question by a nurse my first visit, & as I began answering, she began writing, but only listened to the first, & majority of the second variable of 4 aspects. While at this time, I was thinking it might be important to cover the 4 aspects of trouble as there may be a relation, possibly between allergies, stomach issues, skin issues, and lung issues. Turns out there is; it's allergic reactions! I wasn't asked to hold for a moment as she wrote, so I assumed she's listening while writing (as many used to, and some still do) because I wasn't asked to pause in order to write. I confirmed that i was not being listened to, 3/4 of the way through as I was about to move onto the forth aspect. After review, only the first was clear, the second aspect she began going off in left field a little bit, and as I corrected the course of that aspect that I'd discussed, she tried to tell me otherwise! While defensively telling me I was heard. So I asked to clarify to me what information I'd provided. She got majority of aspect two correct, and very clearly lost her just before beginning the 3rd. It was a moment of "wow". I asked for an apology for being rude by being unjustly defensive, & she did only when I explained. When I saw the doctor ("Brad") I explained that for this very reason and others, I had, had 5 different GP doctors over a 3 yr period (one of them an internist) and due to regularly overwhelmed staff throughout osf (& unity point), I do not get nurses, and/or doctors receiving the data in full, and often jump the gun, and making it clear they aren't paying attention. Osf & unity point are simply overwhelmed, and when you are making yourself politely clear, & getting somewhere as far as being heard, insurance caps on doctor capability then become a reason hindering investigative ability. When I mentioned that for these various reasons, if my illness is diagnosed both doctors branches are looking at a malpractice suit, he immediately got defensive and clearly offended. He justified himself when I asked what his issue is by "should I not be offended? You just threatened the company that writes my check". Another wow moment! Thinking of himself & the corporation that's been screwing me around since my first day at osf, rather than the experiences that brought that comment forth! My last attempt was to simply get an inhaler called in. It's in osf system that I have been tested positive for asthma that requires treatment, yet I am told I need to drive the 33 miles there. So I point out the distance, & cost of which isn't justifiably affordable to do so as it can be proven in osf documents that I have asthma, and can simply be called in, thus only requiring a 24 mile round trip to the pharmacy. But I was still told to drive the 66 mile round trip. These kind of experiences of frustration can be disheartening, leaving a person feel helpless. In addition to that, as a direct result of lacking a strong desire to apply investigative skills to solve patients health problems, it can certainly affect a patient's health in a further negative manner. The medical system is ill itself. Who treats that illness? The pharmacuetical corporations? You all need a reality check, your system is not efficient and costing ppl (more than myself) their health. Look at your data & see for yourself. Oh wait you don't have time. So outsource it like you would anyway! Duh! Right?
